Il 22
settembre 2010, ANSI-ANAB ha
annunciato l’inizio della fase di
accreditamento degli enti di
certificazione per il programma
PS-Prep, il programma volontario di
certificazione dei sistemi di
gestione della Business Continuity
del settore privato statunitense.
Il programma
PS-Prep è una partnership tra il
Dipartimento di Homeland Security
(DHS) e il settore privato che è
nata a seguito di una
raccomandazione della Commissione
Governativa 9/11 per aumentare la
capacità del settore privato ad
affrontare le calamità e le
emergenze. In base ad un accordo
con il DHS, ANSI-ANAB sta gestendo
il processo di accreditamento degli
organismi di certificazione ANAB in
conformità allo standard ISO / IEC
17021, che detta i requisiti
internazionali per gli organismi
che forniscono audit e
certificazione di sistemi di
gestione.
L’accreditamento ANAB consente alle
società di certificazione
accreditate il rilascio di
certificati di conformità alle
organizzazioni private che si
trovano a rispettare qualunque o
tutti i tre standard designati dal
DHS per il programma PS-Prep: ASIS
SPC.1, BS 25999 e NFPA 1600. Le
norme - ASIS SPC.1, BS 25999 e NFPA
1600 - sono state sviluppate
rispettivamente da ASIS
International, British Standards
Institution, e National Fire
Protection Association.
Le
organizzazioni private certificate
nell’ambito del programma PS-Prep
potranno decidere di essere inserite
in una lista pubblica di aziende
private dotate di un sistema di
Business Continuity certificato,
confermando in questo modo a clienti
e stakeholder l’esistenza di un
solido sistema di Business
Continuity.

On September 22, 2010, ANSI-ANAB has
announced the start of the
accreditation of certification
bodies for the PS-Prep program, a
voluntary program for certification
of management systems of the
Business Continuity of the U.S.
private sector.
The PS-Prep program is a partnership
between the Department of Homeland
Security (DHS) and the private
sector that was established
following a recommendation of the
Government Commission 9 / 11 to
increase the capacity of the private
sector to deal with disasters and
emergencies. Under an agreement with
DHS, ANSI-ANAB is managing the
process of accreditation of
certification bodies in accordance
with ISO / IEC 17021, which sets
international requirements for
bodies providing audit and
certification of management systems.
ANAB accredited certification allows
companies to issue certificates of
conformity to the private
organizations that are found to
comply with any or all three
standards designated by the DHS for
the program PS-Prep: SPC.1 ASIS,
NFPA 1600 and BS 25999 . The three
standards - ASIS SPC.1, BS 25999 and
NFPA 1600 - have been developed
respectively by ASIS International,
the British Standards Institution,
and National Fire Protection
Association.
Private organizations certified
under the program PS-Prep can decide
to be included in a public list of
private companies holding a
certified Business Continuity
Management system, thus confirming
to customers and stakeholders of the
existence of a robust Business
Continuity program.
